Chickens

We have a variety of chickens, in different enclosures, all with different personalities!

The fancy chicken enclosure compromises of: Bantams, including Frizzels and Polish hens and one cockerel- Colin.

The original chicken coop contains hybrid birds; Mendelsham Blue, Fenning Sussex, Heritage skyline along with our 3 Ex-Commercial birds, that were oven ready when we rescued them!

Cluckingham palace houses; Brahmas, barnyard mix, ex commercials, Columbian black tails and phoenix the cockerel.

Rare breed Sweedish flower hens: Foggy the cockerel, Wilma and Alice.

The Fluffies: Silkie hens.

Our reception classes raised the 4 Columbian black tails from 4 days old.
The first chickens to arrive at the farm were the Ex-Commercial hens. These hens were rescued via ‘Fresh Start for Hens’ near Swanley.

Our friendly chickens all regularly lay eggs of which we sell to our school community. It is really interesting to see the range of coloured eggs the chickens produce.
